The Drakensberg are the highest mountain peaks south of the Kilomanjaro and reach over 3000 m hight. The local Zulu people call the mountains 'Wall of Spears' and is declared a World Heritage Site.

Addo

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Addo is only 40 minutes driving from Port Elizabeth airport. The accessibility of this area coupled with its close proximity to the Garden Route and Cape Town makes the Addo Elephant Park and its surrounding areas an extremely desirable destination that is already very popular with international visitors. The Addo Elephant National Park was proclaimed in 1931 and today this finely tuned ecosystem is home to over 400 elephants.

Durban

One of South Africa's largest cities. Durban offers an interesting cultural mix of Zulu, English and Indian. The city is also the Mecca for South African beach tourism. Kilometer long sand beaches and the warm Indian Ocean water, ideal for surfing.

   

Johannesburg & Pretoria

Pretoria is renamed as Tswane while the city centre will still keep the name Pretoria. Tswane is the administrative capital from South Africa.Thousands of Jacaranda trees blossom during spring, therefore the city is also called 'Jacaranda City'.

 

 

 

 

 

Johannesburg is for many overseas visitors a welcome time at leisure after the long flight. Many of them start their holiday here and travel to Kruger Park and Sun City or the game reserves in the west and northwest.

Soweto

Enjoy a very unique township experience with a local guide. Meet the people of Soweto, an intriguing southwest of Johannesburg. Visit the former home of Nelson Mandela, the Hector Pieterson Memorial, drink 'Johannesburg Beer' in a shebeen, a walk through the market or be invited in people's homes.

Eastern Cape

Dramatic coastline, unspoiled beaches and the Great Karoo semi-desert. This province is less known by overseas visitors, never the less there is much on offer.

Great and Little Karoo

A large semi-desert where plants had to get used of huge temperature differnces in summer and winter, day and night. The Great Karoo is situated in the Northern Cape and the southern Free State while the small Karoo starts 120 km north of Cape Town and Oudtshoorn in the east.

   

Magaliesberg

The Magaliesberg are among the oldest mountains in the world, almost 100 times older than the Mount Everest. The mountain ragne stretch for 120 km from Bronkhorstspruit Dam east of Pretoria to Rustenberug in the North-West Province and separate the highveld grasslands to the south from the bushveld savannah in the north.

Pilanesberg & Sun City

The Pilanesberg National Park is a huge volcanic crater rising 600 m above the surrounding plain provides a dramatic setting. Established in 1979, one of southern Africa's premier tourist attractions.

Sun City is world famous for its big events and a state of the art golfcourse.

   

Waterberg

The Waterberg is a mountain range northwest of Johannesburg and north of the famous Sun City Resort in the Limpopo Province. Two very popular game reserves are the Marakele National Park and the adjoining Welgevonden Nature Reserve.

Madikwe Game Reserve

Beautiful 70.000 ha nature reserve near the Botswana border and only 50 - 25 km from its captial Gaborone. The savannah bushveld flows over into the Kalahari. Big-5 and malaria free.

   

Route 62

This is the longest wine route in the world. Route 62 was inspired by the American Route 66.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The picturesque route winds through the Litte Karoo semi-desert along towns such as Worcester, Barrydale, Robertson, Ladysmith and major tourist attraction Oudtshoorn.

Swellendam

Established in 1745 by the East Indian Company in 1745. The district and town is named after the Cape Governor, Hendrik Swellengrebel and his wife Helena Ten Damme.

This attractive historical town is situated along the N2 between Cape Town and Knysna. The Marloth Nature Reserve and Bontebok National Park are within easy reach.

   

Garden Route

The Garden Route is reaching from Mossel Bay in the west, Tsitsikamma in the east and Oudtshoorn in the north. Beautiful national parks such as the Wilderness National Park, Tsitsikamma National Park and the Knysna Lake National Park. Kruger Park region

The most visited part of the Kruger National Park is situated in the Mpumalanga Province. Typical for this region is bush in a hilly landscape. There are many private game reserves in the west which form all together the Greater Kruger National Park. The chance to see the Big-5 is usually larger in the private game reserves.

Another major tourist attraction in the region is the Panorama route where you can see one of the largest canyons in the world.

Zambia

The 2.340 ha Victoria Falls National Park and the 53.600 ha Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe are adjoining game reserves with the same administrative body. The most popular side of the Zambezi River is on Zambian soil but the Zimbabwe river banks are as much as beautiful. Even the political situation in Zimbabwe is a concerns, it is safe to stay at this side of the river.

Zimbabwe

Besides the Victoria Falls still a bit unknown due to the political isolation, however one can enjoy the best safari experience in this magnificent country.

Uganda Gorilla Tracking

Uganda has the highest density of primate species, (gorillas, chimpanzees, olive baboons, to mention but a few) compared to any other country on earth. Kibale Forest National Park and Bwindi have 16% of the polypore fungi recorded from North America and Europe.

   

Botswana

Mauritius

65 km long and 45 km wide, its land area is 1,864.8 km. Mauritius is surrounded by more than 150 kilometres (93 miles) of white sandy beaches and the lagoons are protected from the open sea by the world's third largest coral reef, which surrounds the island. Just off the Mauritian coast lie some 49 uninhabited islands and islets, some of them are used as natural reserves for the protection of endangered species.

Seychelles

The Republic of Seychelles, is a 115-island country spanning an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, some 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar. To give you a better idea where the island group is, nearby island countries and territories include Zanzibar to the west, Mauritius, Rodrigues, Angaléga and Réunion to the south, and Comores and Mayotte to the southwest.
